Standing in Solidarity with UK Farmers: The Inheri Standing in Solidarity with UK Farmers: The Inheritance Tax Protest Today, farmers in London are protesting against the current inheritance tax policies affecting farmland in the UK. This tax burden risks the sustainability of family-run farms, which are vital for food security, rural communities, and our national economy. Many farmers fear that the tax forces the sale of land just to cover the costs, threatening generational farming traditions. We stand in full support of their protest. Farming is not just a business—it’s a way of life. The current system unfairly penalizes those who dedicate their lives to producing the food we all rely on. It’s time for policymakers to recognize the unique challenges of farming and implement reforms that protect these essential stewards of our land. #SupportOurFarmers #InheritanceTaxReform #inheritancetaxreform #ukfarming #dairyfarming #britishdairying #britishdairyingmagazine
The Importance of Regular Slurry Cleaning in Cattl The Importance of Regular Slurry Cleaning in Cattle Sheds Maintaining a clean and hygienic cattle shed is essential for the health, comfort, and productivity of livestock. Regular slurry cleaning is a key part of this upkeep, and while it may feel like a routine chore, it has a major impact on cattle welfare and overall farm efficiency. Why Clean Slurry Regularly? 1. Improved Animal Health: Accumulated slurry can foster bacteria, ammonia, and other harmful pathogens. Regular cleaning reduces the risk of hoof diseases, respiratory issues, and infections, keeping cattle healthier and less prone to illness. 2. Better Air Quality: When slurry sits too long, it emits ammonia, which contributes to poor air quality. Proper ventilation paired with regular slurry removal ensures fresh air, improving both cattle health and worker comfort. 3. Enhanced Comfort: Clean, dry flooring means cattle have a more comfortable environment, reducing stress and encouraging natural behaviors like lying down, which can improve milk yield in dairy cattle. 4. Environmental Compliance: Regular slurry management can help ensure compliance with environmental regulations, as stored or disposed slurry must be handled to avoid soil and water contamination. The Barn E will regularly clean the barn ensuring a cleaner passage ways and beds. #farm #ukfarming #beeffarming #britishdairying #dairyfarm #dairyfarming #slurry

By investing in regular maintenance, you ensure the reliability and efficiency of your slurry scrapers. #slurry #dairyfarming #britishdairying #farm #ukfarming #beeffarming #cowsofinstagram
The Importance of Lighting for Cattle Lighting p The Importance of Lighting for Cattle Lighting plays a crucial role in cattle farming, affecting not only the well-being of the animals but also productivity and farm operations. Proper lighting improves cattle health, behavior, and growth rates, while also making routine tasks easier for farmers. Benefits of Good Lighting for Cattle: 1. Increased Productivity: Studies show that consistent, balanced lighting can boost milk production in dairy cattle by helping to regulate their circadian rhythms. 2. Improved Health: Adequate lighting reduces stress and encourages better feeding habits, which leads to healthier weight gain in beef cattle. It also helps in spotting health issues early. 3. Safe and Efficient Operations: Well-lit barns and facilities make it easier to handle cattle and perform tasks like feeding, milking, and health inspections, ensuring safety for both the animals and workers. Best Practices: • Aim for a balance of natural and artificial light, with proper ventilation to prevent overheating. • Use LED lights, which mimic natural sunlight and are energy-efficient. • Ensure lighting is evenly distributed to avoid shadows that may cause cattle to feel anxious or stressed. By optimizing your lighting setup, you not only create a better environment for your cattle but also enhance overall farm productivity. #britishdairying #dairyfarming #beeffarming #uk #farm #ukfarming #farmsafety
